About
Cup of Dog originally began as small blog, written as an outlet for me to share all of the information and experience I was getting in raising my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, Louis Reginald. Being a canine aficionado, I am also always making the effort to be ‘in the know’ regarding dog related news, dog products, dog shows and the canine industry as a whole. Cup of Dog has grown since we started this journey, and our family along with it! Ella Bean, our new arrival, is a tiny mixed breed. She is full-grown at less then three pounds. Both Louis and Ella Bean struggled with their health. Finding only found temporary solutions through conventional veterinary medicine, I turned to alternative therapies. Through the use of nutrition, supplements and homeopathy, Louis and Ella Bean are not only disease free, they are full of vitality and thriving. As I became more involved in the canine community, I learned that Louis and Ella Bean’s health issues were common frustrations of many dog owners. Cup of Dog is devoted to promoting high quality nutrition and alternative therapies to help find solutions to these problems. In addition, we lap up dog news, dog fashion, dog products and all around dog fun!
Inspired by Louis and Ella Bean’s newfound vitality, I have found I am truly impassioned to spend my days sharing my knowledge and experience through Cup of Dog. I hope to bring light the value of alternative ways of thinking about dog care, feeding and love! It is becoming increasingly clear that conventional methods of dog care are doing a tremendous amount of damage to their health and it is up to us as conscientious caretakers to reverse this trend through information and action.
As the original blog gained increased interest and consistent readers, my friends, family, web developers and researchers helped to create the site you are viewing. Through their support, Cup of Dog has morphed into a full-blown website all about dogs!
We look forward to continuing to grow (we recently were honored with the Cool Dog Site of the Day Award) and to finding new and creative ways to give you, our readers, their daily Cup of Dog.

I breed rat terriers and I currently have 2 baby b”rats” 3 wks old. I know you send samples and coupons to vets offices, but as a breeder I’d like to pass off a sample and a coupon for your puppy food to the new owners along with their shot/wormer record, pedigree & puppy papers, and baby pictures. Would this be possible? I’m not always sure the new owner will take their puppies to a vet as I give them their shots and worm them as part of the “new puppy package”. I think your product is outstanding and it gives new puppies, right off their mother, the boost they need to grow up to be healthy beautiful dogs. Thank you. Please feel free to contact me at tnlds@aol.com or snailmail Lynnda Mathis, 505 Anthony Ln., Mayfield, KY 42066

Lynda,
I would love to see pictures of your baby terriers! Thanks for visiting Cup of Dog - we don’t actually sell dog food, but we do love and recommend certain products that we have had success using on our own dogs.
I would be happy to discuss what I do in more depth with you and if Cup of Dog and I can assist any new puppy owners in any way, we would be delighted.
Thanks again!
Hilary
