Racing Chihuahuas Compete for Title
Chihuahuas keep popping up in the news! First, the Paragliding Chihuahua that crashed into a tree, then there was the praying Chi, and lastly, the one seeking to be the world’s smallest therapy dog. The tiniest of all the dog breeds sure knows how to keep busy!
Now, the Chihuahuas are off to the races! The Fourth Annual Seattle Chihuahua Race took place a few days ago and we have a winner! Pancho Villa, a black-haired Chihuahua came in first place and is headed for San Diego,
come August, to represent the city of Seattle in Petco’s fourth Annual National Chihuahua Races.
The tiny winners of local events from all over the United States will gather in late this summer to determine who is the speediest. Of course an event like this isn’t just about the race. Spirit counts; and prizes are awarded to the pooch’s parents who show the most enthusiasm. Make sure your Chihuahua is fashionably dressed to impress, because a basic tee won’t be enough to win these judges over. Painted toenails, tiny wigs, itty bitty sunglasses, sequins and sparkles; these judges have seen it all.
Can’t make it to San Diego? Tell your Chihuahua to stop shaking. By
showing up at Petco on Race Day, your miniature fashion plate can have her very own race T-shirt, to celebrate the sheer joy of being a Chihuahua. All you have to do is spend over $25, so make sure to plan your treat, grooming and pet needs accordingly.
